When recoverable materials are identified
and markets for them have been developed, equipment is selected which specifically
recovers these materials and specifically prepares them for their identified customers.
The selected equipment, operational procedures, and staffing must be integrated in a way
that efficiently mines the waste streams and manufactures recovered materials to
specifications. For example, glass must be separated, granulated, and bagged in-plant if
there is a customer for bagged glass sandblast materials. Plastics must be separated,
segregated by type and color, washed, flaked, and boxed in-plant if there is a customer
for such a product. Thus, equipment must be integrated into the plant system to perform
these manufacturing operations. |
